Dr. Riskin, Executive Director, licensed since 1976, and an ABS board certified sex
therapist / clinical supervisor, established the Sex Therapy Center of Orange
County at its' current
location in 1989 with his wife Anita Banker. Michael specializes in
the diagnosis and treatment of sexual dysfunction and relationship
conflicts for individuals and couples. He is the author of Stop in
The Name of Love: a Clinical Guide to the Control of Premature Ejaculation
and co authored with Anita Simultaneous Orgasm and other
Joys of Sexual Intimacy. Since 1980, Dr. Riskin has been on the graduate level
faculty of several Southern California universities and presented papers
at a diverse roster of professional and academic workshops and conferences.

James is an associate director of the Human Sexuality Center of Orange
County. As a sex therapist, he specializes in the treatment of all
psychologically based sexual dysfunctions affecting men, women and couples.
His treatment methodology includes working closely with urologists,
gynecologists and other medical professionals, as necessary, as part of a
team approach to sex therapy.
With twenty-eight years of focused experience, he is proficient in the
treatment of sexual addiction of all types, sexual problems that are
accompanied by substance abuse, and disorders related to gender identity. As
a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, he utilizes specialized techniques to
deal with anxiety and panic based sexual concerns such as impotence,
premature ejaculation, vaginismus, inorgasmia, inhibited sexual desire (ISD),
and dyspareunia.
James' other sex therapy specialties include the treatment of adults
molested as children or abused as children and adult children of alcoholics
who have been exposed to sexual trauma and abuse. |
